Auslan Taster Classes

Always wanted to take sign language classes but never had the time? Or just wanting a quick refresher to practice and build your confidence before taking the next step on your Auslan journey?

This Auslan Day, celebrate with us by learning some basic signs for everyday communication in Auslan in our Auslan Taster Classes

The classes will run for 45minutes, online via zoom and will be delivered by our experienced Deaf Trainers.

Townsville Morning Tea

On the 13th of April 1989 was when the first Auslan dictionary was printed. This book officially gave our community a name for our beautiful language. This Language was recognized as a community language in all over Australia in 1991.

Auslan Day is a great opportunity to celebrate this wonderful language.

All are welcome to join – families, seniors, Auslan students.

Cairns Afternoon Tea

On Auslan Day we celebrate the rich history, culture, community and language of the Australian Deaf Community.

Come join us for Afternoon Tea at the Community Centre in Cairns.

Everyone is welcome to come along, including those learning Auslan. There will be some fun games.
