Supported Independent Living - Deaf Connect

Overview

Deaf Connect provide the Deaf and hard of hearing community with access to one-on-one support in Auslan, allowing participants to learn and develop the skills and confidence to live independent lives.

By supporting participants using their primary language, we aim to reduce the requirement for Auslan interpreters in situations where they may not be needed and reduce the strain on our participant’s interpreting packages.

We provide assistance to participants in their own home or a shared living arrangement such as shared household where combinations of services are provided to residents who require a higher level of support.

This support includes assisting with or supervising tasks of daily life to develop the skills of our participants.
