Do you know what a myGovID is? Well, most people are familiar with verifying their identity with a physical driver’s license, which includes a photograph, your full name and birth date. And myGovID is like a digital ID for Australians. Once established, your myGovID helps you to safely access government services online, like with the ATO or Medicare. It’s efficient, secure and convenient. Let’s walk you through the process of setting up your myGovID.
First of all, download the myGovID app. Once downloaded, start by putting in your personal details, your full name, date of birth, and personal email address. Next, you need your ID documents like your passport, birth certificate, or driver’s license. Once that is complete, next, you’ll be prompted to take a quick photo of yourself. It’s like taking a selfie. The photo has to be taken on a neutral background with good lighting… Nice background, adequate lighting, well-groomed. Once the photo has been taken, your myGovID will be activated. Your myGovID makes it easier to submit tax returns or make a claim via Medicare.
Congratulations on setting up your myGovID. Now you can seamlessly access government services online. It’s secure, convenient and efficient.
