Overview
Deaf Connect offers a range of beginner Auslan classes aimed at introducing basic Auslan conversational skills to participants.
You will learn basic skills to communicate with Deaf people in Auslan on a range of topics that involve simple, everyday language.
The beginner courses are easy, fun, informal, and relaxed and are delivered face-to-face and online.

Beginner Auslan Pathway
There are many ways to start learning Auslan including Face-to-Face Classes and Guided Online Classes delivered by our amazing Deaf tutors as well as a Self-Paced Online Course with over 14 hours of interactive quizzes and video content.
We have 2 beginner levels:
- Introduction to Auslan 1 which is perfect for those who have no previous knowledge of Auslan
- Introduction to Auslan 2 for those students who had previously completed ITA 1 or other non-accredited training like Sign Online looking to build upon their skills

INTRODUCTION TO AUSLAN 1 | INTRODUCTION TO AUSLAN 2 | SIGN ONLINE (SELF-PACED) |
This is our first beginners course and offers a basic introduction to signing in Auslan. ITA 1 is designed for people with no previous language skill or knowledge of Auslan. | Designed to build on the skills and knowledge learnt in the Introduction course. This course has a pre-requisite of completion of ITA 1 or prior Auslan experience. | Sign Online offers the flexibility of self-guided and self-paced online learning with over 14 hours of interative quizzes and video content. |
