Entry Requirements
These courses are designed for Deaf and hard of hearing adults aged 15 or over.
You may enrol in as many courses as you like, but make sure to secure your place quickly as space is limited.

Location and Time
Semester 1, 2024
Duration: two (2) terms of ten (10) weeks:
- Term 1, 2024: 29 January to 12 April 2024
- Term 2, 2024: 29 April to 28 June 2024
There is a two-week break from 23 September to 11 October 2024.
When: Every Wednesday from 9am – 12pm.
Where: Deaf Connect, Parramatta (Level 4, 69 Phillip St, Parramatta, NSW, 2150)
Semester 2, 2024
Duration: two (2) terms of nine (9) weeks:
- Term 3, 2024: 22 July to 20 September 2024
- Term 4, 2024: 14 October to 13 December
There is a three-week break from 23 September to 11 October 2024.
When: Every Wednesday from 9.30am – 12pm.
Where: Deaf Connect, Parramatta (Level 4, 69 Phillip St, Parramatta, NSW, 2150)

Units of Competency
Semester 1, 2024
- FSKRDG001 – Recognise extremely short and simple workplace signs and Symbols
- FSKRDG004 – Read and respond to short and simple workplace information
- FSKRDG006 – Read and respond to simple informal workplace texts
- FSKWTG001 – Complete personal details on extremely simple and short workplace forms
- FSKWTG003 – Write short and simple workplace information
* Units in this course are taken from FSK10119 Certificate I in Access to Vocational Pathways
Semester 2, 2024
There are no units of competency associated with this course, as it is NOT nationally recognised and does NOT lead to the issuance of an AQF [Australian Qualifications Framework] certification documentation.
Fees
This training is subsidised by the NSW Government.
This course is fee-free for eligible people who meet the Entry Requirements.
Enrolment Documentation
Funding Eligibility Evidence
In order for DC to assess your funding eligibility, you will need to provide some evidence along with your Enrolment Form.
Proof of citizenship in the form of one of the following:
- Australian or New Zealand Birth Certificate
- Australian or New Zealand Passport
- Green Medicare card
- Naturalisation Certificate
- Humanitarian VISA
- Certificate of Evidence of Resident Status (Permanent Resident)
Proof of residency or employment in the form of one of the following:
- Current driver’s license
- Health Care card or Pension card
- Proof of Age card
- Letter or email form employer to show the street address where you are working
- Utilities account relating to your address within the last 3 months of rental document
Proof of disability in the form of one of the following:
- Disability Support Pension card
- Letter form a medical practitioner
- Letter from a health professional
- Letter from a government agency
- Letter from a school counsellor
Note: In Semester 2, 2024, this course is NOT nationally recognised and does NOT lead to the issuance of an AQF [Australian Qualifications Framework] certification documentation.
