About The Role

We are looking for a Speech Language Pathologist to administer speech, language and listening assessments in accordance with Healthy Hearing Monitoring Guidelines in addition to providing speech pathology sessions for NDIS and Medicare clients with a hearing loss. 

We have full-time, part-time or casual positions available in: 

  • Southern Brisbane (Yeerongpilly) 
  • Northern Brisbane (Taigum) 

As a Speech Language Pathologist working for Deaf Connect you will: 

  •  Provide appropriate, timely and effective clinical management. 
  • Have excellent communication, time management and problem-solving skills. 
  • Have an ability to manage caseloads independently. 
  • Have access to clinical education, one-on-one supervision and peer support within the Speech Pathology and wider allied health team. 
  • Work independently and co-operatively within a multidisciplinary model.  
  • Build meaningful, ongoing relationships with children and their families.  
  • Attend regular case management, discipline specific and interdisciplinary team meetings. 
  • Have a commitment to personal and professional development. 
  • Enjoy flexible working arrangements to suit your personal circumstances. 

About You

To be considered for this role you will require a: 

  • Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology 
  • Speech Pathology Australia Certified Practising Membership 
  • NDIS Worker’s Screening Check 
  • Working With Children Check/Blue Card

  • Knowledge and skills in clinical best practice and principles of Family Centred Practice (FCP) 
  • Knowledge of childhood development 
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team 


You should also let us know if you have these other great skills:
 

  • Evidence of ongoing education/professional development relevant to deafness 
  • Experience in Auslan
