Successful recipients
From July 2022 to June 2023, we had the pleasure of supporting a range of inspiring community members and supporters.
This included sponsoring community events, community groups and individuals, see below are a few stories.

World Pride Conference | Lily Stokes
In March 2023 Sydney WorldPride host the largest LGBTQIA+ Human Rights Conference in history, held in the Southern Hemisphere.
The three-day event was an exploration of LGBTQIA+ human rights. Deaf Connect supported the event by providing a grant to cater for the provision of Auslan interpreters across the event, ensuring it was accessible and inclusive for all abilities
Pup & Girl | Lee-Anne Lupton
Pup & Girl are a fantastic duo that both have a passion for running. Lee-Anne is a Deaf endurance athlete, who not only has a passion for ending homelessness but challenging the narrative around it.
Her pups are equally enthusiastic and they are her ears when running the streets of Adelaide.
Deaf Connect has provided a grant to support Lee-Anne and her pups to run from Perth to Adelaide to raise awareness and funds to assist people that experience homelessness while demonstrating that we are all abilities are capable of anything.
Deaf Festival | Sydney
Deaf Connect is the platinum sponsor of the Deaf Festival Sydney. In 2022 the festival welcomed over 1,500 Deaf community members at the event’s new home of Cathy Freeman Park!
The event was a great success, accompanied by fantastic reviews from attendees and stallholders. It was an opportunity to reconnect and celebrate our wonderful community. We look forward to sponsoring the event again this year.
