This is Auslan90 – Deep Dive, produced by Deaf Connect, supported by SBS.
In addition to our Daily news, Deaf Connect produces ‘deep dive’ videos which provide more detail and context to the biggest stories of the week.
Today’s deep dive focuses on the recent news about the Liberal-National Coalition in Australia.
The Coalition has reunited after a week-long split triggered by post-election negotiations and internal leadership shifts. Nationals leader David Littleproud and Liberal leader Sussan Ley had clashed over key policy positions during the talks and formally announced the split on 20 May.
Following further discussions to resolve differences, the parties settled on four of the Nationals’ core demands, including a commitment to nuclear energy. A press conference on 28 May, where the shadow cabinet was revealed, confirmed the parties’ reunification and their intent to move forward together stronger. Watch now to learn more.
This project is funded by the Federal Government Department of Social Services Information, Linkages and Capacity Building (ILC) program.
