Here is Vanessa with an update about the Deaf Festival Sydney:
“Hi everyone! I’m so excited to give you all an update about Deaf Festival Sydney held on the 24th of August 2024 at Cathy Freeman Park.
It truly was a beautiful day. There was some light rain in the morning, but then the sun came out shining. The festival was huge. We had over 59 stallholders with food trucks, a kid zone with face painting, a performance stage and a seniors tent. And this year we had a fence around the park, which meant we had one entry point where our volunteers asked attendees where they were coming from and could keep a tally of everyone who came.
I’m really excited to announce that we had 3868 people come to the Deaf Festival, Sydney, that is absolutely massive. We’re so grateful to you all in the community for coming out and celebrating. I want to thank our sponsors, our volunteers and the organising committee for their efforts, which ensured a successful event.
We’re so pleased that we had almost 4000 people visit us, and now we’re starting to plan for next year. We’ll let you know more information later, but I can definitely tell you it will be in August. See you next year!”
