Welcome to the 23rd Edition of ‘The Tap!’ Deaf Connect’s fortnightly update on what is happening around the organisation and in the community.

Check in with Brett and Deaf Australia’s Shirley Liu from Parliament house in Canberra where they met and watched Senator David Pocock deliver his maiden speech that was Auslan interpreted via a screen. Learn more about what was discussed in his speech and what his focus is on over the next 3 years in Parliament.

Brent discusses an upcoming documentary about the life of Barry Priori who was an amazing role model and Auslan teacher for the Deaf Community. Deaf Connect are proud sponsors of the documentary that recently premiered in Adelaide and will be shown in Melbourne on August 16 via Expression Australia.

Vanessa catches up with Danni to ask a few questions about the renovated green room in our Parramatta office.
