Deaf Connect is excited to announce a new course in partnership with the Australian Government’s Be Connected Program. Join our short iPad and tablet courses delivered in Auslan.

Led by our experienced deaf trainers, you will learn how to become more confident using your iPad or tablet and gain skills that will support you to use a variety of programs and apps to keep in touch with friends and family, access government, health, other essential services and discover more information on a variety of topics.

The Be Connected Program is an initiative aimed at supporting older Australians to become tech-savvy and engaged in the digital world. 

When: 10am – 12pm, Every Tuesday from 10th October 2023 – 7th November 2023
Where: Deaf Connect Office | 915 Ipswich Rd, Moorooka QLD 4105

Morning tea will be provided.

Please note: Be Connected is a partnership between the Australian Government.  This course is fully funded by the Australian Government for those 50 years and over.

  • You must be an Australian citizen / permanent resident.

What to bring?

Please bring your own iPad or tablet and a charger to the course. If you don’t have one, you can borrow one on the day.

To prove your age and Australian citizenship/residency, please bring to the first session:

  • Photo ID (passport or driver’s license)
  • Medicare card
  • Pension Card or QLD Seniors Card

Deaf Connect are working to grow our service offering to more locations so if you’re not based in QLD or NSW but are interested in the program, we encourage you to still submit an EOI with your preference.
