Welcome to the Sign Name/Name Sign submission form. You may have seen Deaf Connect’s video booth at the 2022 Brisbane and/or Sydney Deaf Festival. We are now thrilled to open online submissions to all members of our community to participate in our Sign Name/Name Sign Gallery webpage.
How to participate:
To participate, you must film two separate videos.
- VIDEO ONE – The first video will just be you signing your name. Please do not lead with an introduction or say anything else other than your sign name.
- VIDEO TWO – The second video is the explanation and story behind your sign name. Please browse the gallery to view examples if you are unsure about what to say.
All videos must be:
- A maximum of 2 minutes in length
- Filmed in landscape mode
- Filmed on a plain background and have good lighting
- Must have appropriate framing space e.g. not too tight so arms are cut off
- Able to be downloaded by us via the link provided (please double check your share settings)
If you do not follow the criteria above, your submission will not be accepted.
Terms and Conditions:
By completing the form below:
- I hereby grant permission for Deaf Connect to use images and footage of me for Deaf Connect’s Sign Name Project.
- I acknowledge that images and footage of me may be used in publications, videos/DVDs, on the Deaf Connect website and social media in relation to the Sign Name Project.
- I understand there is no guarantee that my video/s will be used throughout the project.
- I acknowledge that I will receive no financial compensation.
- I understand I have the right to withdraw my consent at any time.
- I further agree that my participation gives me no rights of ownership. I release Deaf Connect and its employees from liability for any claims by me or any third party in connection with my participation.
- I have read and understood the above information and any questions I have had have been answered to my satisfaction.
