Today’s deep dive focuses on Thailand and Cambodia’s Border Battle.

Thailand and Cambodia have been in major disagreement over land for years – but recently, things boiled over into a violent border clash. The conflict flared up again after a Cambodian soldier was killed in May this year, followed by a Thai soldier being injured by a landmine on July 24th. Intense fighting broke out, lasting nearly a week, until Malaysia stepped in to help both sides reach a ceasefire. In this video, we break down the roots of this long-running dispute, tracing it back to an ancient temple and the unresolved borders that still divide the two nations. Watch to learn what’s really behind the fighting. Images credited to Getty Images
