This is Auslan90 – Deep Dive, produced by Deaf Connect, supported by SBS.
In addition to our Daily news, Deaf Connect produces ‘deep dive’ videos which provide more detail and context to the biggest stories of the week.
Today’s deep dive focuses on the Coalition’s No Net Zero.
The Bureau of Meteorology (BoM) has come under fire after revealing its newly- overhauled website cost taxpayers a staggering $96.5 million – more than 20 times the original publicly quoted budget.
The backlash isn’t just about the price tag; many users found the new layout confusing and anything but intuitive, with hard-to-find forecasts and a difficult-to-use rain radar.
As wild weather swept across large parts of the nation, coinciding during the rollout of the new weather site, the website’s flaws sparked outrage from farmers, policymakers, and everyday Australians alike.
