This is Auslan90 – Deep Dive, produced by Deaf Connect, supported by SBS.
In addition to our Daily news, Deaf Connect produces ‘deep dive’ videos which provide more detail and context to the biggest stories of the week.
Today’s deep dive focuses on Wildlife Road Protections
Australia’s roads pose a significant threat to native wildlife, with millions of animals killed in vehicle collisions each year.
Despite the scale of this issue, current measures to protect wildlife are inconsistent and often inadequate. Research highlights a lack of national standards and accountability for implementing proven solutions such as wildlife crossings, fencing, and tunnels -interventions that dramatically reduce fatalities and improve road safety.
Watch the video to explore the findings and discover how practical solutions could save countless animal lives and protect motorists.
