In February, we hosted a Deaf Seniors Roundtable in Sydney with representatives from seniors clubs in each state and territory in Australia.
It was a wonderful session discussing many topics including Deaf History, Deaf Space, Aged Care and Over 65s Interpreting service, and plenty of ideas about how Deaf Connect can best support our seniors.
We also hosted an inaugural WA Deaf Sector Roundtable in Perth.
It was a fantastic session that provided an opportunity for all attendees to discuss various topics, including updates from each organisation, early years, and Deaf youth.
Several ideas were raised on how to best support the WA Deaf community, and we look forward to meeting again in April!
Deaf Connect has various community halls, office training rooms and boardrooms to offer for hire for Deaf community or NFP organisation use. These spaces are currently available in Queensland, New South Wales, South Australia and Western Australia.
