What a month August turned out to be! Deaf Festival Sydney and the Deaf Ecosystem Summit gave us the chance to come together, connect and celebrate – and it was great to share it all with you.
Over just a few days, we welcomed Deaf community members from around Australia and even overseas, including New Zealand, Sweden, the United States and the United Kingdom.
More than 100 people took part in the Deaf Ecosystem Summit, spending time exchanging ideas, making new connections and looking at ways we can keep building the Deaf Ecosystem. It was inspiring to see everyone supporting each other and sharing experiences!
Deaf Festival Sydney was bigger than ever, with thousands coming together to celebrate Deaf culture, language and heritage. From local and international Deaf performers on stage, to Auslan Storytime, art workshops, Deaf poetry and Deaf-owned businesses – the festival grounds were buzzing.

These events might be over, but there’s definitely more to come.
