Deaf Space consultations are coming to Brisbane! We’re excited to learn what Deaf Space means to you and welcome everyone from the community to join us. These sessions will be Auslan-only.
Where: Deaf Connect Office Brisbane, Level 5, 88 Tribune St, South Brisbane QLD 4101
Morning Session: Thursday 20 March, arrive at 9:30am for 10am start until 12:00pm
Evening Session: Friday 21 March, arrive at 5:30pm for 6pm start until 8:00pm
Can’t come in person or need an interpreter? No problem — we’ve got Zoom sessions too! Just make sure to RSVP using our Events Page . We can’t wait to see you there!

[PETRA] We have an exciting event coming up, a Deaf Space Workshop. Now Lloyd, what is Deaf Space?
[LLOYD] Well, you might remember what it was like in years gone by. You’d be working Monday to Friday, constant communication barriers, and then Friday night you’d be excited to meet with your Deaf friends, catch up on all the news, and talk for hours and hours.
[PETRA] And what about you, Jamie?
[JAMIE] It’s also a safe space for Deaf people to gather without having to constantly adjust to suit others. You can communicate purely in your own language.
[PETRA] That’s right, it’s also a place you can sit with a friend and not have things obstructing your view of each other. You can chat freely. When will it be?
[LLOYD] The 20th of March, that’s a Thursday morning from 10 till 12.
[JAMIE] Or March 21st, Friday evening, 5.30 to 8pm.
[PETRA] If you can’t attend either of those events, there will be a Zoom event. But please do RSVP, using the Eventbrite link or QR code. If you’re unsure how to do that, ask a friend or a support worker to help you. It will be held at 88 Tribune Street, South Brisbane, in the MOBO building. We look forward to seeing you there. Bye!
