The Disability Council NSW is seeking new members.
Combine your passion for disability rights with your strategy and policy expertise. Applications close on 29 September – apply to join
The Disability Council NSW is the official advisory group to the NSW government about people with disability. It advises the government, raises community awareness about people with disability, and promotes an inclusive community.
What to expect
The council meets four times a year, in Sydney, but you can come to meetings online. There will be some work outside of the meetings, for example reading papers and preparing reports, as well as representing the council at events or other committees.
Being on the Disability Council NSW is not a ‘job’, but members get paid:
- sitting fees to attend meetings
- for travel, accommodation and other reasonable requests as part of the role.
The council provides Auslan interpreters at meetings. Adjustments are also available upon request.
Who can apply?
NSW is diverse so the Disability Council NSW should be diverse too. That’s why applications are encouraged from the Deaf community.
