After a great event in Sydney, Deaf Connect and Deaf Victoria worked together to bring Florian “FlowTV” Tirnovan to Melbourne.
What a night! The community filled the venue with energy, laughter, and connection. It showed how important these gatherings are for all of us.
Florian’s performance mixed heartfelt stories and comedy from Deaf experiences. The evening started with a Q&A where Florian talked about his journey as a Deaf performer and advocate. He answered thoughtful questions from the audience.
The comedy set that followed had everyone laughing and celebrating shared experiences. It created a sense of unity and joy; even though Florian’s specialty is “dark comedy” he had us all in stitches!
We want to share a video message from our Chief Services Officer, Brent Phillips, from the night. In the video, Brent says thank you to everyone for coming together… especially on a weeknight!
Events like these, along with festivals and performances, help build a strong Deaf community and Deaf space. A special thanks to Convo for partnering in Sydney, and to Deaf Victoria for co-organising the Melbourne event.
Thank you again to everyone who came and helped make the night a success. We look forward to more events that bring our community together!
