NWDP 2024 | Daily Theme | Investing in the Future of Deaf Communities

Published on: 29th September 2024

It’s the last day of National Week of Deaf People! Today’s theme is “Investing in the Future of Deaf Communities.”

As we wrap up National Week of Deaf People, we want to extend our gratitude to all our partners and sponsorship recipients. Investing in the future of the Deaf community doesn’t happen without YOU; at Deaf Connect, we consider ourselves lucky to work towards a future where all deaf and hard of hearing people are treated equally and enjoy full accessibility in society.

We have several key programs aimed at fostering the long-term success of the Deaf community. Through the Family Mentor Program, we support early language development for children and their families. The Leonie Jackson Memorial Fund is funding vital research to enhance the educational experiences of Deaf students and interpreters, helping to drive future reforms. Additionally, we support Deaf businesses through the Deaf Ecosystem, provide essential services for seniors through the National Sign Language Program, and promote community-driven initiatives through our Grants and Sponsorship programs.

We are always on the lookout for new funding opportunities within the Deaf community. Do you have ideas or initiatives you’d like to bring to life through Deaf Connect’s sponsorship program? Visit our website to learn more about how you can get involved!
