Welcome to the 21st Edition of ‘The Tap!’ Deaf Connect’s fortnightly update on what is happening around the organisation and in the community.
It’s been a busy fortnight here! We hosted a Work at Deaf Connect Webinar for the Deaf community where we discussed our organisations vision, structure and the various jobs we have available.
We then headed to Lismore and the Gold Coast, where we hosted our Let’s Connect Events and got to meet and catch up with the local Deaf communities. After the Gold Coast event, we watched game 3 of the State of Origin where Queensland got the win!
Yesterday, we launched the Leonie Jackson Memorial Fund at Miami State High School on the Gold Coast. The launch featuring presentations from Board Chair, Ralph Collins, Deaf Connect CEO, Brett Casey, and Leonie’s friends and family.
