What is the IAR program?
The Information, Advice and Referral (IAR) program helps Deaf people access clear, trusted information in Auslan and accessible formats.
Our team supports people by:
- Explaining services and supports that may be available
- Helping people understand pathways and options
- Referring people to the right organisations or supports
- Providing information through outreach, sessions, and resources

How we deliver support
The IAR program is delivered through Deaf Connect’s Community Engagement services and may include:
- Walk‑in services – check our locations + opening times here: Community Access – Walk-In Community Access – Deaf Connect
- Outreach sessions and community visits
- Information sessions and community engagement activities
- Accessible resources (including Auslan video content and other formats)
- Referral pathways to appropriate supports and services
We will share updates as delivery expands through 2026–2027.
Expanded presence in ACT and Tasmania
This funding allows Deaf Connect to grow our Community Engagement presence in the ACT and Tasmania, supporting stronger local connections and improved access to information and referral support in those regions.
