🗓️ 15 January, 2024. Since the weekend there have been a number of significant bushfires. Some of these are very dangerous. As at 7am Monday local time emergency services are in the process of updating the warnings in impacted areas. There are currently “Watch and Act” warnings in place north of Perth, and a “Bushfire Emergency Warning” – in parts of BINDOON, BREERA, GINGIN, LENNARD BROOK, MOOLIABEENEE and MOONDAH in the SHIRES OF GINGIN and CHITTERINGThis means there is a threat to lives and homes in these areas.
◾ If the way is clear leave now for a safe place.
◾️ If you cannot leave you should be sheltered in your home
◾️ If you are not at home it is too dangerous to return. Stay away. There is an evacuation centre at the Bendigo Centre Recreation Grounds on Weld Street in Gingin. The fire is not contained and is moving in multiple directions. The ‘Emergency WA’ website has excellent and up to date information and a map of the fire’s movements and you should be checking that regularly if you are in an impacted area.
