Occupational Therapy for deaf and hard of hearing Children

Occupational therapy for Deaf and hard of hearing children can involve practicing speech and listening, learning sign language and using pictures and symbols.
OTs help with strategies for Deaf and hard of hearing children who may find everyday skills more challenging, such as following instructions or demonstrations and interacting with others, for example during school or play time.
Deaf Connect OTs may use strategies such as interactive play, environment exploration and Auslan coordination to support your child. Our team also screens for other areas where your child may need support, such as their attention span, balance and spatial awareness and sensory processing.
