What is Portobello?
Portobello by the Sea holiday apartments are located opposite the beautiful Dicky Beach in Caloundra on Queensland’s magnificent Sunshine Coast – just an hour’s drive north of Brisbane.
Apartment 18 was owned by a Deaf community member and was gifted to Deaf Connect. It was their wish to have this apartment available to the Deaf community to enjoy.

What is the prize?
One 9-night stay at Portobello by the Sea, Caloundra, Queensland, from 3 July to 12 July 2026 for up-to 4 guests. The prize covers accommodation only. Travel, meals, transport, activities, and all other expenses are the responsibility of the winner(s). The prize does not include tickets to Australian Deaf Games events. The prize is non-transferable, non-exchangeable, and has no cash value. Deaf Connect reserves the right to substitute the prize with one of equal or greater value if the prize becomes unavailable.
Who is eligible?
The competition is open to Australian residents aged 18 years or over at the time of entry. Employees, contractors, casual staff, and board members of Deaf Connect are not eligible to enter. Immediate family members of Deaf Connect staff are eligible to enter. Employees and contractors of Deaf Sports Australia and the Australian Deaf Games organising committee are not eligible to enter. By entering, entrants confirm they meet all eligibility requirements. Deaf Connect reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or modify the competition if circumstances beyond its control affect the integrity of the competition. Any attempt to manipulate entries, interfere with the competition, or act dishonestly will result in disqualification.
How many times can I enter?
You may enter only once and you must fill in the information requested. You can earn bonus entries by participating in our post-entry actions including referral, social media actions, and sign up actions. You may not enter more times than indicated by using multiple e-mail addresses, identities or devices in an attempt to circumvent the rules. If you use fraudulent methods or otherwise attempt to circumvent the rules your submission may be removed from eligibility at the sole discretion of Deaf Connect.
How is the prize drawn?
The winner will be selected by random draw from all eligible entries on 1 June
Will you announce the winner?
Winner/s of the Contest will be notified via e-mail or phone to the e-mail address or phone number they entered into the Contest with within five (5) days following the winner selection.
Once the winner/s have accepted the prize, we’ll post an update on our website and social media so keep an eye out.
How will my photos and stories be used?
Entrants must own the copyright of any photo submitted. By entering, entrants confirm they have the right to submit the content. Entrants must have the permission of any individuals identifiable in submitted photos. By submitting an entry, entrants grant Deaf Connect a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce, and publish submitted photos for the purposes of the ADG2026 campaign, competition promotion, event coverage, and on Deaf Connect’s social media channels and website. Deaf Connect reserves the right to disqualify any entry that is offensive, defamatory, or otherwise inappropriate at its sole discretion. Submitted content must not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights.
What if I already have accomodation booked for ADG?
You may be able to cancel or change your existing accommodation or otherwise transfer it to someone else attending the games. This will depend on where you have booked, and the contract of that booking.
