Whether you want to be more inclusive or improve your service delivery to deaf clients, patients, customers, students, employees, colleagues or among deaf peers, Deaf Connect’s customised Deaf Awareness Training (DAT) will give you the information and practical tips to improve your interactions with deaf people.
We offer 1 or 2 hour live sessions delivered face-to-face or online via Zoom by experienced Deaf trainers, as well as self-paced modules.
Many Australians, and businesses are not aware of the mental workload and challenges deaf and hard of hearing people undertake when communicating with their work colleagues, service providers, retail outlets, friends or family. Deaf Connect’s Deaf Awareness Training aims to close this gap by giving you the information and practical tips to improve your interactions with deaf people.

Our Self-Paced DAT is a perfect option for individuals looking to gain an introductory understanding of the Deaf experience, Deaf history and practical tips to be more Deaf aware in your day-to-day.

Deaf Connect’s self-paced, online Deaf Awareness Training gives you information and practical tips to improve your everyday communication, interactions and inclusive environments with deaf and hard of hearing people. This interactive, self-paced course is delivered online in Auslan by members of the Deaf community with subtitles.
