Hello. I’m Shirley Liu, the interim CEO at Deaf Australia.
There are four of us organisations collaborating at present: there is ourselves, Deaf Australia, Deafness Forum Australia, Deafblind Australia, and Deaf Connect – the four of us. We are collaborating to provide a Zoom webinar about the NDIS.
I’m sure you’ve seen over recent times the legislative changes happening, with the provision of information being unclear and confusing. The complexity of legislative changes has been huge. Not to worry, though, this Zoom webinar is the perfect opportunity to learn and understand what is happening in plain language, through Auslan.
As you learn about the changes, you’ll also learn about what impact it’ll have on your NDIS plans; what NDIS will cover and support provided, and what it won’t cover. This will be detailed. You’ll also have an opportunity for Q&A at the end of the webinar. You want to know when this will be happening and at what time? Here’s the information provided.
[White text on black background is displayed that reads: “Tuesday 17 December at: 7pm AEDT, 6pm AEST, 6:30pm ADCT and 4pm AWST”.]
This Zoom webinar will provide Auslan interpreters and captioning. The four of us collaborators will be facilitating the discussion to make sure that you are comfortable and can benefit from the information provided. It’ll be worth it.
This webinar is designed for the Deaf community: Deaf, hard of hearing, Deafblind, families with deaf children who have NDIS, support coordinators, support workers, organisations, deaf businesses who want to know more about NDIS – all are welcome to join us.
If you are keen to join, there is a link for you to click and register your information. Once you click on it, you’ll receive a link to enter the Zoom session. If you want the opportunity to ask questions now, you can. You can either write questions in English or send an Auslan video. To send the Auslan video, there will be a WhatsApp or a phone number you can send it to. Here it is!

Look forward to seeing you there!
